Adoptable Lab, Emily, is a Prolific Swimmer Looking for a Home with a Pool

DLRR

Dear, sweet Emily is ready to find her forever home right this instant. She came to Desert Labrador Retriever Rescue from the Arizona Humane Society after being surrendered by her owner. Emily is one of the sweetest, funniest, and absolute prettiest yellow Labs DLRR has ever met — and they've met a lot of Labs!

This gorgeous gal loves to take walks, go for swims whenever possible, play tug of war, and is always up for a rousing round of fetch. In fact, she loves all toys. Once she has had some play time, she likes to relax with her people and just chill wherever they are. Emily is house-trained, familiar with doggy doors, and takes treats gently with her mouth.

Adoptable Labrador Retrievers

She has a very high prey drive, so on our walks, it is best to use a no-pull harness, as she wants to chase every rabbit she sees. Emily would be just as happy to stay home and swim in the pool for exercise, though, if that's an issue. Besides, at a spry 10 years old, swimming is much easier on joints and connective tissues anyways.

Emily has exhibited reactivity to some unfamiliar people and dogs in the form of barking and acting frightened. These fears can be overcome with the right training to boost her confidence. With training, a safe place, and consistency, Emily will be a wonderful addition to your life.

For the Love of Rescue Dogs

DLRR strongly recommends the online training programs at GoodPup.com to help Emily. They have many resources to choose from. Honestly, she is so worth the effort!

If you think Emily might be the right pup for you, you'll need to fill out an adoption application on DLRR's website. She even comes with an affordable adoption fee!
