Barbers Shave Their Heads In Solidarity With Woman Battling Cancer
Going through chemotherapy is tough, both physically and emotionally. Beyond fighting for life, many people are faced with smaller challenges, including social stigmas that come from shaving their heads.
Losing your hair and having to shave may seem like a small, inconsequential thing in the grand scope of life, but it can really hit people hard. Our hair holds so much identity, it's emotional to let go.
When a Brazilian woman named Claudia began battling cancer, she went to the barber shop where her son worked to have her head shaved. Little did she know the ripple effect her actions would have.
Guilherme Magalhães shared a touching video of the moment his mother was getting her head shaved at Barbearia Entre Amigos in Brazil. You can see in her face that she looks emotional, but her demeanor really changes when Guilherme takes the razor away from her head and begins shaving his own.
Claudia can barely believe what she's seeing, but it didn't stop there.
The other barbers at the shop noticed what was going on, and they walked over to shave their heads in solidarity.
You can watch the touching moment for yourself in the Instagram video below:
After the haircut, Claudia and the three barbers posed beside each other for a few photos that were later uploaded to Instagram:

It's amazing what a small gesture can do to change someone's day and maybe even impact their life in a big way.
