Dogs Chained Outside in War Zone Finally Rescued
Andrea Powell
In a war-torn corner of Ukraine where most people have fled, three dogs spent their days chained outside with nowhere to go and no one coming for them - until Krystina arrived.
Our hero, Krystina, returns to destroyed villages and dangerous areas searching for animals caught in the crossfire of this war. In one of these villages, she found three dogs - alone, chained, and surviving on whatever the war-torn world around them was willing to spare.

Krystina did not have to stop. She could have driven past - the way so many do in a country where the scale of suffering has a way of making any individual chain seem small against everything else. But that is not who Krystina is. She stopped. She unclipped the chains as she reassured the dogs they were finally safe.

The little brown dog leaned into her the moment he was free. Just leaned in — as if his body had been waiting for exactly that. A kind hand. A way out. Someone to come to his rescue, someone like Krystina.

While another puppy wagged her tail in excitement that someone had finally come to save her.

She brought them back to her shelter, Under the Sun. And now they need the veterinary care and rehabilitation that will help them recover from everything the chain and the war put them through.

Your donation supports Krystina's rescue work and gives dogs like them - the ones chained and forgotten in the middle of a conflict that has no end in sight - a real chance at a life that looks nothing like the one the chain tried to leave them with.

Please donate today and help Krystina care for the animals left behind.
