Homeless Dogs in Ukraine Stay Warm in Donated Dog Kennels

Winter has arrived in Ukraine, and it is bringing dangerously cold temperatures.

Thanks to your generous donations, dozens of insulated dog kennels were delivered to animal rescuers to provide a safe and warm shelter for homeless dogs.

The sturdy construction and weatherproof roof allow dogs of all sizes to get out of the cold. The dogs and devoted caretakers are beyond grateful for the support.

United for Animals (UfA) helped distribute the kennels and shared that they are immediately being put to use.

UfA shared, "Druzi Poruch is a community of compassionate individuals united by the goal of humanely managing the number of stray dogs on the city’s streets and improving their lives. Their primary mission is to heal, feed, and find loving homes for every animal under their care. Adoption is the perfect conclusion to the animal rescue cycle."

Druzi Poruch received several kennels to house the stray dogs they feed and care for. With many shelters and rescues operating with little to no electricity and heat, these kennels are vital during cold season.

Your donations are saving lives!

UfA told us that they focus on helping people and animal shelters in small and forgotten villages that have been heavily impacted by the war. They said, "We support those who have stayed in their native villages or returned to the places where their lives unfolded. In villages where roofs are gone, windows are shattered, electricity is cut off, and communication is often nonexistent, people remain because they know they are not needed elsewhere."

These brave individuals are caring for the stray and abandoned animals with what little resources they have. When help arrives, there are tears of gratitude as they know that they are not alone.
