Update: Bono is back on his feet, and he has you to thank. Your donations helped him get the care he needed to heal. The senior feline who lived most of his life on the streets will live the rest of his life in a loving home.

Bono has survived for the past ten years on the streets of Romania, but now needs our help to walk again after getting caught in cruel trap. 

Romania's capital city, Bucharest, is home to thousands of stray dogs and cats. The animals are struggling to survive, and many residents view them as pests. 

Rescuers and caretakers do their best to feed and care for all the homeless animals, but many are in need of medical care. One caretaker who feeds the community cats found Bono with his leg caught in a cruel animal trap and rushed him to Sache Vet Clinic (Asociatia Sache Vet). 

The senior cat does not trust humans as he has not been treated well by them for most of his life. He initially hissed at his caretakers before realizing they were going to help him. 

He arrived with his leg in serious condition with exposed bone and signs of infection. He has been started on pain medication and antibiotics as he waits to have surgery.

Greater Good Charities' Emergency Animal Medical fund was contacted to help cover his ongoing medical bills. The fund was started to save the lives of injured animals like Bono and give them a second chance to find a loving home.

Pets receiving critical care facilitated by an Emergency Animal Medical grant may not be eligible for adoption until they have completed their course of treatment.
