Update: Thanks to your support, Cinnamon has recovered and found a loving home.  The rescue shared with us, "Treatment went great, surgery was a success! She recovered so well that it was hard to keep her on restricted activity for as long as she needed to be. She was ready to get back to her old self almost right away."

Meet Cinnamon

This sweet one-year-old American bully has never known love or a kind person until now.

She ended up in an overcrowded shelter in Iowa with scars on her head and emotional scars on her heart from being abused by her former owner.

Cinnamon is as sweet as her name and rescued by Lead Intake Volunteer at Dogs Forever. She was smitten by the young dog and inquired about her history.

The answer broke her heart. According to the shelter, they believe Cinnamon was used as a bait dog as they discovered a lot of injuries and scars on her head and body upon intake.

She also has a torn CCL on one leg and a partial tear on the other leg. While she loves to go for walks, she is unable to due to her leg injuries.

She needs surgery to repair her injuries before she's left with lifelong immobility. Without surgery, the painful injury can lead to additional damage to cartilage and surrounding bones.

Greater Good Charities' Emergency Animal Medical fund is helping with her medical bills but needs your support. The fund gives dogs like Cinnamon a second chance by providing grants to shelters and rescues for emergency surgeries and ongoing medical care.

Even after all the pain Cinnamon has been through, she remains a happy and playful dog who loves to be around people. She will need months of physical therapy after surgery before she can be adopted.

Cinnamon has made a full recovery thanks to your ongoing support. Thank you for helping save lives.

Sadly, sick and injured animals continue to arrive at shelters in need of emergency medical care. Donate now to help those in need.
