UPDATE: Thanks to your donations, Creeper was able to live a happy life for several months as she struggled with a heart condition. She had good days and bad. Sadly, she has passed away.

Her caretakers are heartbroken but want to thank you for your support to help this sweet feline. Any funds that weren’t used for her medical care will be used to care for other pets.

They wrote, "She may be gone, but her memory and the joy she brought into our lives will live on. Rest in peace, sweet Creeper. You will be missed more than words can express."

Meet Creeper.

This sweet feline was brought to Let's Be S.M.A.R.T., a cat rescue in Greece, as a stray. She appeared to be in good health until one morning she woke up and she was paralyzed from the waist down with labored breathing.

She was rushed to an emergency clinic where the medical team discovered she was suffering from heart disease and thromboembolism, a condition that occurs when blood clots obstruct a blood vessel. The vet also discovered a pulmonary edema, causing her lungs to fill with liquid.

Creeper was in a fight for her life, but the tough feline pulled through. Her caretakers said she has a strong spirit and will to survive.

However, her battle continues. She needs multiple surgeries to remove the obstruction and the fluid from her lungs. She will remain at the hospital for several weeks to recover but is expected to walk again.

Her road to recovery will be long and expensive. Greater Good Charities’ Emergency Animal Medical fund is donating towards her care, but we need your help.

The fund was created to give shelter pets in need of medical care a second chance. Shelters and rescues are barely able to feed the animals in their care with their minimal budgets, which leaves little or nothing for medical bills. Countless lives have been saved thanks to your continued support.

Once Creeper has fully recovered, she can start the search for a new home. Her heart condition can be managed with daily medication. The shelter said, "She is a very loving sweet soul who will ask for cuddles and kisses nonstop if you make her feel comfortable (and it’s not hard to do)!"

Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, Greater Good Charities and the Animal Rescue Site are in the process of deepening our commitment to the dogs of Xanthi, ensuring every animal has the support it needs. We are also expanding our reach to several new areas within Greece, supporting both cats and dogs in need.

Creeper is just one of the many pets we’re helping in Greece, but we can’t cover her care without your support. Help us meet our goal of $6,000 for Creeper and pets like her.
