Update: Henry is doing well and on the road to recover, thanks to your support and a loving foster family. His caretakers shared, "Henry has been recovering beautifully in a foster home alongside large dogs, small dogs, and kids — and he couldn't be more in his element. He loves them all without hesitation. That tail? We imagine it hasn't stopped wagging. The before and after photos say it all. Story from: a dog who arrived in desperate need of help, to a bright-eyed, healed-up boy ready for his next adventure — Henry's transformation is nothing short of remarkable."

Henry has endured immense pain due to neglect and deserves a second chance. He was found with a swollen head from a deeply embedded collar.

A collar that was likely put on when he was a puppy became torture as he continued to grow but the collar did not. Over months of neglect, it buried itself into his flesh as he grew — and no one had cared enough to notice or help. Until one day a good Samaritan saw him and came to his rescue.

He was rushed to a local rescue, Save A Pet Rescue Adoption and Transport for care.

For so long he has been suffering in silence with no way to free himself. Every breath hurt and reminded him how badly he had been failed. However, he never gave up hope and greeted his rescuer with a wagging tail.

Due to the restricted blood flow and accumulation of blood and fluid in his swollen head he needed emergency surgery for his best chance at survival.

The collar needed to be removed but carefully as he was at risk of extreme hemorrhaging or shock since the skin has grown over the collar.

A veterinarian carefully removed the collar and began to treat the deep wounds left behind on his neck.

Henry is now on heavy antibiotics and pain medicine as he continues to heal in a foster home. His medical bills are quickly adding up and the rescue needs help with his care.

With your support, Greater Good Charities' Emergency Animal Medical fund helps save the lives of sick, neglected, and injured animals by covering medical expenses.

He will need ongoing care until his wounds have healed. Donate today to help Henry get the second chance he deserves. He has spent his entire life waiting to be loved and cared for.
