The Haley Graves Foundation posted, "We all know how much we love our repeat adopters! Lucky Lainey found her furever family yesterday. This cutie has a former alum four legged brother to show her the ropes! Lainey loves kids so is super excited to have two legged ones to play with too! Welcome to the alumni club!"

Meet Lainey.

The 9-week-old puppy was found at a construction site in North Carolina and brought to a high-kill shelter. A local rescue group, Haley Graves Foundation, came to her rescue after her 5-day stray hold.

The rescue was informed that Lainey was struggling to walk on her right hind leg. She was examined by a vet and X-rays found that both femurs were fractured in her hind legs.

Every step she takes is painful.

Lainey needs orthopedic surgery so she can run and play, as puppies should. She has her whole life ahead of her but needs our help to heal.

Greater Good Charities' Emergency Animal Medical fund was contacted by the rescue to help cover Lainey's medical bills.

The fund was started to give injured, neglected, and sick shelter pets the second chance they deserve. Shelters and rescues are already stretched thin trying to feed for all the animals in their care and are unable to afford ongoing medical care.

That's where you can help.

With surgery and physical therapy, Lainey is expected to make a full recovery. Help us raise $6,000 for her treatment. Your gift will not only give her the hope to keep fighting, but your donations will help cover her ongoing care.

Pets receiving critical care facilitated by an Emergency Animal Medical grant may not be eligible for adoption until they have completed their course of treatment. If you would like to inquire about adoption of a specific animal, we strongly encourage you to visit the shelter’s specific website first as that is often the most up to date place to learn about available pets and review the adoption policies and process.
