April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month to raise awareness about animal abuse and to encourage people to report abuse and adopt from their local shelters. Along with our partner, Greater Good Charities, and your continued support we help countless sick, injured, abused animals get the emergency medical care they need, like Bond.
This four-month-old puppy has endured unimaginable pain and suffering. He was found abandoned near a dumpster in Georgia with severe wounds across his entire body.

A local rescuer found him and reached out to NYC Second Chance Rescue for help. The rescue brought him to a vet where they determined his wounds were consistent with burns.
He was clearly abused and in excruciating pain.

Bond remains sweet despite the pain he has suffered, but he has a long road to recovery. He will need weeks of intensive treatment, including advanced wound management to promote tissue regeneration and epithelial healing, as well as constant care at the hospital to heal.

His medical bills are quickly adding up. Donate today to help bond get the care he needs to heal and leave his painful past behind him. He is just a puppy and deserves to experience love and joy.
Sadly, injured and abused animals continue to arrive at shelters and rescue in need of medical care. Read about a cat named Willow who also needs your support to heal.
