Surrendered Puppy Struggling To Grow Needs Emergency Blood Transfusion

National Dog Day is August 26th and what better way to celebrate than by helping a dog in need.

The runt of a litter of German shepherd mix puppies hopes to grow up big and strong - but needs your help.

Meet Chance.

The little guy was surrendered along with his two siblings to Save A Pet, an animal rescue in Alabama. The 10-week-old puppies were all small for their age, especially Chance. They were taken in by a loving foster family who fed them nutritious food and watched as the puppies started to flourish.

Chance was not growing at the same rate as his siblings, so his foster family brought him to the vet to be examined. The vet discovered that the little pup had a disastrously low red blood count. He would need an emergency blood transfusion as well as diagnostics to assess his medical issues.

The rescue reached out to Greater Good Charities' Emergency Animal Medical fund for help with his medical bills. The fund was created to help shelter dogs like Chance who are in need of emergency care. Shelters struggle to afford vet bills on top of the ever-increasing pet food cost to feed all the animals in their care.

That is where, with your generous donations, the Emergency Animal Medical fund is able to lend a helping hand.

Chance deserves a second chance.

Help us meet our goal of $4,000 to care for Chance. Your support will not only give Chance the hope to keep fighting, but your donations will help cover the transfusion and ongoing care he will need.
