Update: Tulip’s life was saved thanks to your donations! She beat parvo and has found a forever home. Fix West Texas is grateful for the support and said, “We can't thank Greater Good enough for helping make this a happy ending. Not only for Tulip, but also for her foster, our staff and her new owner. It is truly amazing how many lives Tulip has touched.”

Every year, tens of thousands of dogs get canine parvovirus - and many don't survive.

According to American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the highly contagious parvovirus attacks white blood cells, the gastrointestinal tract of dogs, and damages the heart muscle in puppies.

Unvaccinated puppies are at the highest risk, like Tulip

The Labrador mix puppy was found in grave condition on the street and needed immediate care. She was taken in by Fix West Texas who started the sick pup on doxycycline, fluids, and medication to help stabilize her.

Her best chance at survival is a one-time injection of canine parvovirus monoclonal antibody (CPMA) that contains an antibody which targets and neutralizes the virus. She will need to remain on antibiotics and under constant supervision until she starts to improve.

Will you help her get the care she needs to beat parvo?

Greater Good Charities' Emergency Animal Medical fund is helping with her care, but we need your help. The fund was started to help save the lives of sick dogs like Tulip and give them a fighting chance.

Pets receiving critical care facilitated by an Emergency Animal Medical grant may not be eligible for adoption until they have completed their course of treatment. If you would like to inquire about adoption of a specific animal, we strongly encourage you to visit the shelter’s specific website first as that is often the most up to date place to learn about available pets and review the adoption policies and process.

Tulip is only a puppy and has her whole life ahead of her. Help her bloom into a happy and healthy pup by donating towards her care.

Help us meet our goal of $4,000 for Tulip and pets like her.
