Tourist Captures The Tense Moment An Elephant Fights Mama Rhino For A Spot At The Watering Hole

An elephant and a mother rhino had to fight it out after the elephant chose violence at the watering hole.

According to Latest Sightings, 64-year-old Krishna Tummalapalli, a cardiologist from India, was visiting Kruger National Park in South Africa when he captured the tense moment unfold between a rhino and an elephant at the watering hole.

In the video, you can see a mother rhino and her calf enjoying the watering hole when two elephants approach. One of the elephants seemingly wants to the watering hole to herself and she shoves the rhino out of the way!

The two animals intensely fight, while the poor baby rhino tries to get out of the way. In the end, the rhinos were able to escape and the elephants got the watering hole to themselves.

According to the outlet, Krishna said: "We went to the watering hole and were watching two rhinos drinking water for a bit of time before we spotted two elephants approaching from the distance. We were curious about what was about to happen but we never expected them to get into a fight."

He added, "We were amazed that we could see something like the elephant become aggressive towards the rhinos. We were also worried for the baby rhino, especially after the elephant pushed the rhino mom over her own baby! We felt a bit more at ease once the rhinos started running away with seemingly no injury."

"Who knew that an elephant carries such power? As Indian Americans, we were used to Indian elephants which are not as big as African elephants. We think of rhinos as huge animals, but the elephant literally pushed the rhino around like it was nothing," he said.
