The war in Ukraine continues and so do the repeated bombings by Russian forces. Homeless dogs caught in the middle of the war zone are finding refuge at makeshift shelters operated by kind and brave individuals who are risking their lives to care for the animals left behind.

UfA shared that bombings were relentless during one distribution, but that didn't stop the courageous volunteers from delivering the much-needed food to shelters and caretakers.

One of the volunteers is a professional photographer and captured heartbreaking images of terrified and starving dogs to show just how dire the situation is.

UfA said, "These images not only highlight the difficulties faced but also the dedication of those caring for the animals, even in such dangerous conditions. We are grateful to everyone who helps us continue this mission. Together, we are making the world a safer place for animals, even in areas where explosions are heard daily."
