A seven-year-old Labrador retriever named Sparky was left heartbroken when his family surrendered him to Humane Society of Broward County. The family traveled a lot and said they didn't have time for the sweet fella. 

Sparky didn't understand why he was in this loud place and longed for a loving family. It was the only thing on his Christmas list. The staff and volunteers spoiled Sparky with love and affection and shared his story on TikTok. 

They said he is the "definition of a good boy". He knows all the basic commands and will even bark to let you know he needs to go potty outside. 

He adores people, attention, and playing with toys. He would love to spend his days running around with toys and snuggling with a loving family. 

According to his caretakers, "Despite his playful, happy nature, you can see the sadness in Sparky’s eyes when he’s alone in his kennel."

Sparky waited patiently for his new family and a week before Christmas his wish came true. 

The joy he felt at finally finding a loving home is obvious in a video posted by the shelter the day he was adopted. Check it out.

Sparky is living his best life with a large backyard where he runs and plays with his canine sister. His new family commented, "Sparky is very happy in his new home and loving his new sister. They are the best of friends. We love him very much. He has a big yard to run in and getting lots of exercise."
