Severely Malnourished and Underweight Animals Arrive at Shelters in Need of Nutritious Food

Animal shelters nationwide are not only over capacity but are also caring for many sick, malnourished, and starving dogs and cats - like Morgan, Daisy, and Mighty.

These animals will need weeks or months to regain their strength and obtain a healthy weight.

This only puts more stress on the already overwhelmed shelters. They need our support now more than ever.

Join us in sending nutritious pet food to shelters across the country by donating to our Holiday Pet Food Drive.

Meet just a few of the animals who will benefit from your donations.

Morgan

This 5-week-old kitten arrived at Michigan Humane Society in dire condition after being struck by a car. His hind leg was shattered, and the only option was amputation. He was underweight and is slowly starting to regain his strength thanks to donated pet food.

The money the shelter saved will help cover Morgan's medical expenses and give him the second chance he deserves.

Daisy

Daisy was rescued from a cruelty case where she was found in a makeshift kennel alongside her dead puppies. The German shepherd was emaciated and weighed just 23 pounds.

She was immediately hospitalized due to her condition. Daisy was starving and hadn't had a nutritious meal in a long time. Her recovery will be long, and she needs a lot of wholesome food to recover. She has endured so pain and suffering and needs our help.

Wags Rescue shared that she was terrified of people at first but is slowly warming up. They said, "We are so blessed to be able to help our desperate dogs in this community. Because of great food coming in from the Greater Good Charities food bank, we will continue our efforts here to save as many as we can!"

Mighty

Mighty arrived at El Reno Animal Shelter severely malnourished weighing just 25 pounds. He was barely able to stand with little to no muscle mass. He will need many small meals to slowly introduce food to his body and it will take months for him to recover.

He finds the strength to wag his tail and is thankful for the love and support of the shelter team.

Help Mighty live up to his name and make a full recovery. The shelter and all the animals are grateful for your donations.

They shared, "We are truly grateful for your kindness and dedication to helping animals in need. Your compassion allows us to provide lifesaving care to helpless pets like Mighty, and we are deeply appreciative of your ongoing support."

Malnourished and sick animals arrive daily at shelters, and they need our help to feed and care for them. Our partner, Greater Good Charities, is hosting their annual pet food drive to provide millions of nutritious meals to hungry pets.

Just $25 can help provide 500 meals to hungry pets in need. Donate now and make the season bright for shelter pets.
