Animal shelters can be a frightening place with their loud noises, unfamiliar faces, and extended alone time for homeless animals. The thought of many of them never finding homes or being at risk of euthanasia due to lack of space, is what nightmares are made of.

That's why, along with our partner Greater Good Charities, we are conducting a Howl-O-Ween Flight to Freedom to save over forty dogs and cats.

One of the biggest fears for shelter pets is never finding a home. Too many have spent countless weeks and months alone and deserve a second chance.

With your support, over 70 dogs and cats at overcrowded shelters will get a one-way ticket to Wisconsin and leave fear behind as they board the flight on October 6.

Meet some of the pet passengers eagerly waiting for a fresh start.

Batman

Batman is an opinionated black cat who arrived at the shelter missing his tail. The one-year-old feline is mysterious, courageous, and unforgettable - making him a superhero. 

His current shelter shared, "Batman has things to say. Important things. Mostly about how wonderful he is and how you should absolutely stop what you are doing and pay attention to him immediately. He is not wrong."

This vocal, playful, attention demanding boy is looking for his special someone.

Hattie Mae

This gentle, sweet 2.5-year-old Shepherd mix has been quietly and steadily learning to trust humans. She arrived a little shy, a little uncertain - but every single day she has opened up a little more, trusted a little deeper, and shown the world more of the extraordinary girl she truly is. 

According to her caretakers, " Hattie Mae is the definition of gentle. Submissive, soft, and deeply connected to her handlers — she is the kind of girl who stays close, leans in, and makes you feel chosen simply by choosing to sit beside you. Her behavior evaluation was rock solid, and among other dogs she is nothing short of magnificent — getting along beautifully with every single dog in care without question or hesitation."

She just wants someone to love. 

Tigger

This sweet, social 1.5-year-old hound mix approaches life with the kind of easy, happy energy that makes everyone around him feel instantly at ease. This boy is genuinely wonderful — gentle with other dogs, loving with his people, and absolutely living for every single adventure the day brings. Tigger looks forward to pack walk time the way most of us look forward to the very best parts of our day. It is his moment. His joy. His absolute happy place. 

The perfect match for Tigger would be someone who loves to go on walks, especially trails with all the good smells for dogs, and always up for an adventure. 

Hocus and Pocus

These 11-week-old orange tabby kittens are pure magic with fitting names Hocus and Pocus. They will entertain you with their kitten antics day after day. Their current shelter shared, "Hocus and Pocus bring everything they have to every single play session — chasing, pouncing, wrestling, zooming — until they hit that magical kitten wall and collapse into the most perfect little heap of orange tabby exhaustion you have ever witnessed. They play hard. They crash harder. And then they wake up and do it all over again."

The one thing they are missing is a loving home.

Tinker Belle

The young pit bull mix has clearly had a rough start to life. She arrived at the rescue missing one eye, but does not let that slow her down.

"Tinker Belle did not arrive looking for sympathy. She arrived looking for toys and an audience — and she found both. This girl is a certified, card carrying center of attention and she owns that title with the most joyful, enthusiastic, completely irresistible energy you have ever encountered. Tinker Belle lights up every single room she enters — one eye, whole heart, absolutely zero limitations," shared her current shelter.
