From a Dumpster to Safety: The Rescue of Tiny Kittens in Ukraine
Andrea Powell
As the war continues in Ukraine, so do the calls for help. Krystina, owner of Under the Sun Shelter, gets calls, emails, and text messages weekly and sometimes daily about animals in need of rescuing.
Even though her shelter is already caring for over 250 dogs, she shows up to save more lives.
She rushed to the rescue of tiny kittens tossed out like trash in a dumpster. Their terrified cries could be heard as Krystina and her team approached.

Inside were three kittens wet, cold, and afraid. Their mother nowhere in sight. Krystina climbed into the dumpster and scooped up the kittens into her arms as she told them all would be alright.

The cries stopped as the kittens realized they were finally safe. Once they had full bellies - thanks to your support - their playful side came out.

It didn't take long for these adorable kittens to find loving homes. They are now entertaining their new families who will never abandon them.
