Video Shows Just How Powerful The Venom Of A Komodo Dragon Is

Most of us don't have to worry about the possibility of getting bitten by a Komodo dragon.

If you live in the area or are curious about what would happen, however, a video from Animal Planet is a real eye-opener.

Two pork chops are shown in the video. One of the pork chops is normal, and the other was injected with Komodo dragon venom. They are then left to sit out for a few days to see what happens.

When you first see the pork chops, they look very similar, but it isn't long before the one injected with venom begins to swell. There is also a lot of blood loss from that pork chop as well.

The results may surprise many people, some of whom may not even know that a Komodo dragon can do this much damage. Even those who live in the area of Komodo dragons and are familiar with staying away from them may be surprised by the results.

National Geographic weighs in on the effects of the venom from Komodo dragons. Some effects include "rapidly decreasing blood pressure, expediting blood loss, and sending a victim into shock, rendering it too weak to fight."

Interestingly, there have been at least five people killed from the venom of Komodo dragons in the past, according to Mantarhei. Twenty-four different attacks were recorded, but not all were deadly.

Check out the video below:

People who saw the video were shocked and amazed by the damage to the pork chop injected with venom. Undoubtedly, they will not be spending any time around Komodo dragons in the future.
