Love At First Flight Touches Down In Wisconsin With Over 70 Shelter Pets Ready To Find Loving Homes

On February 20, love was definitely in the air. Early that morning, a plane arrived in Louisiana to transport 60 dogs and 16 cats out of overcrowded shelters and deliver them to Wisconsin where shelters were waiting with open arms and kennels.

Our monthly Flight to Freedom, a sponsored Good Flight, helps save lives and we couldn't do it without your support - so thank you!

Together, we helped stray cats like Stormy and homeless dogs like Pierre get the second chance they deserve. They arrived along with dozens more to find their special someone.

Staff and volunteers from the receiving shelters were at the airport to greet the pets with smiling faces and welcome them to their new home.

One of the receiving shelters, Washington County Humane Society, posted on Facebook, "WCHS staff took part in one of our favorite ongoing traditions: picking up pets from the Good Flights transport at Waukesha County 'Hairport!' Our shelter chose 17 dogs and 6 cats! Not all animals pictured are the ones we have. Most will be available for adoption starting tomorrow, so swing by and say hi!"

Check out their adoptable pets here.

We cannot say thank you enough for joining us on our mission to help pets in need. Animal shelters are so overwhelmed with the influx of animals and decline in adoptions. Please consider adopting, fostering, or volunteering at your local shelters. It takes a village to care for rescued animals and they could definitely use a helping hand.

We are already preparing for next month's flight which will save even more highly adoptable shelter pets who are at risk of euthanasia due to lack of space and adopters. Help us fly even more pets to freedom by donating towards the fuel cost of next month’s flight. Just $5 helps cover the fuel costs of flying a pet 125 miles towards safety. Together we CAN change the world.
