Shelter Life Is Too Stressful For 'Love' Who Needs A Forever Home ASAP

A 4-year-old pit bull arrived as a stray at Humane Society of the Treasure Coast in Palm City, Florida. The sweet dog loves to be by people and curl up in your lap, so she was aptly named 'Love'.

She was adopted by a loving family who sadly had to return her to the shelter when they realized that she does not get along with cats. According to the shelter, "The adopters had cats and unfortunately Love was too interested in chasing them, so she ultimately had to be returned to our shelter."

Love is very stressed in the shelter environment and while staff are doing their best to spoil her with affection, she needs to find a foster or forever home now. They wrote, "Despite regular walks, enrichment and TLC, Love is quickly declining at our shelter. The kennel REALLY stresses her out. We are looking for an adopter or Promote a Pet foster ASAP. Love is a very submissive and timid dog. She just wants to be near her humans for comfort."

A video posted on the shelter's Instagram page shows how much Love enjoys being with people and will hopefully capture the attention of a loving family. The shelter shared that while Love was in a home they learned that she is housebroken, crate trained, can live in a home with another dog (after a meet and greet), but needs a home without cats.

The friendly pup loves everyone she meets, including strangers. In the video, Love met a new person and immediately climbed into her lap to cuddle. She has so much love to give and just wants someone to love her as much as she will love them.

All Florida residents are encouraged to apply to foster or adopt Love. Share Love's story to help her find a loving forever home.
