There is a problem that sometimes happens when we take our pets out during the warmer weather. Although we often get warnings about it, there are some who either choose to ignore it or perhaps think it doesn't apply to them.

The biggest issue is leaving a pet in a hot car during the summer. Although the temperature may be bearable outside, it can quickly turn deadly on the inside of a car.

Perhaps that is why we are so surprised to learn about a report from the Animal Humane Society. They went on Facebook to talk about a man who was found in a hot car along with 47 cats.

The Animal Humane Society said in that a concerned police officer was the first to spot the felines. According to the Facebook post: "Our Humane Investigations agents worked quickly and carefully to bring all four dozen animals back to AHS."

The post went on to say: "Ranging in ages from just under a year to 12 years old, our expert veterinarians have just started examining each cat, providing vaccinations, balanced nutrition, specialised behavioural rehabilitation, and spay/neuter surgery."

Although the inside of a hot car in the middle of June can be deadly, all of the cats seem to be in relatively good health. That being said, the sheer number of cats involved means that it will take a long time to care for each of those animals.

Although the cats are doing okay and are expected to recover, most of them are suffering from dehydration. In addition, they tend to have a difficult time trusting humans in some cases.

An anonymous animal lover saw what was taking place and decided they would match every gift given to the Animal Humane Society, dollar for dollar, up to $25,000.

In addition to the 47 cats that were living in the car, attention also needs to be given to the individual who was also living under those conditions. The cats are being given a second chance, and they hope that the owner will also be given that opportunity as well.
