Neglected One-Eyed Dog With Heart Of Gold Finds Loving Home

A six-year-old German shepherd named Legend was neglected by her previous owner which led to multiple health issues and resulted in her losing an eye. She arrived at Humane Society Of Camden County in need of medical care and a loving home.

She found both.

Legend arrived with missing fur due to fleas and skin allergies and her left eye was swollen from an infection that was never treated. According to the shelter, she had "no vision" in the eye. The infected eye was removed, and she was started on medication.

Her skin has healed, and she has adjusted to life as a one-eyed dog. Even through all the pain, Legend has remained a sweet and friendly pup looking for a family to love.

Legend adores people and other dogs. She is said to be a "social butterfly" and will never leave your side. "Whether you’re going for a hike in the woods or simply taking a stroll around the neighborhood, you can trust that Legend will be there with you, her loyalty never wavering," stated her caretakers.

She has so much love to give. On February 28, she was adopted by a couple who will love her unconditionally. The happy news was shared on the shelter's Facebook page along with a photo of Legend with her new parents.

There are so many dogs like Legend, waiting for their second chance at a loving home. Please head to your local shelter and adopt, foster, or volunteer.
