Most Popular Halloween Pet Costumes For 2023

Halloween is one of the oldest holidays that is still celebrated around the world with tasty treats, pumpkins, and spooktacular costumes. Every year, the goal for Americans is the same - to come up with a unique and memorable costume.

People find inspiration from popular movies, their favorite characters, books, and much more. Adults and children are not the only ones dressing up in celebration of Halloween...

According to Rover, "A whopping 79% of pet parents plan to dress their dogs in Halloween costumes".

There are so many options, and it can be difficult to narrow it down to one. That is why we decided to share some of this year's trending costumes as well as some timeless classics.

Classic Halloween Pet Costumes

The National Retail Federation shared that the most popular pet costume is a pumpkin. Roughly 11% of pet owners will dress up their dog or cat as a pumpkin.

Food-Inspired Pet Costumes

Pets in their adorable costumes will be joining their families as they go in search of treats. "Over half (54%) of pet parents intend to take their costumed companions trick-or-treating. A remarkable 70% of pet parents will have their dogs help greet trick-or-treaters at their own home and distribute Halloween candy at the door," states Rover.

Remember that not all pets enjoy dressing up or having strangers approach their home. The costume should not restrict movement and should be removed at the first sign of distress by your pet. Do what is best for your pet and keep them away from the candy bowl.

Have a Happy Halloween!
