Banjo was adopted on March 10, 2017, about a month after I lost my dog Bonnie.

I wasn't going to get another dog. Bonnie was a special girl and had seen me through the hardest times of my life: Cancer and the loss of my husband to Alzheimer's. Then while walking Banjo one fall day, I was feeling sad, thinking about how Bonnie would grab the glove off my hand at a certain place on the walk and carry it home the rest of the way. Then out of nowhere on my walk with Banjo, he grabbed the glove around the same place Bonnie did. It was was like Bonnie was saying to me it was alright.

I cried all the way home, as I am now just thinking about this. Banjo never did this again, but it filled my heart and soul with the love I had for both him and Bonnie.
