When I lost my first kitty to cancer. I had had him only two-and-a-half-years but loved him dearly. I just could not live without a sweet cat in my home, so I did some searching. 

On Petfinder, I found a cat named Banjo. He was being cared for by the Foxie G Horse and Cat rescue. What drew me most to him was that he was FIV+ and mostly blind, a poor kitty that maybe did not have much of a chance of adoption.

His story was that he had been hit by a car and it was unknown if he was feral or stray, but since he did accept some attention, he was still adoptable. A vet had found him shortly after he was hit or witnessed it. She took him to her practice, removed his eye and neutered him. After almost a year there, no one had an interest in adopting him, and he was going to be put down. Luckily, a vet tech called Foxie G and they took him in.

He would always have a home there, but it was limited due to his lack of sight. When I met him, he rested in my arms for 45 minutes and just purred. He was terrified. They warned me he would never be a lap cat, and for the most part, he is not. However, he seeks attention and loves sleeping curled next to me in bed or on the arm of the chair.

He is quite the squeaky mouse and crinkle ball hunter, not to mention a champion rug masher!

I am so happy I took a chance on him, as he is the sweetest little guy, and rules the house as most cats do!
