One morning, I went down to feed the stray that I take care of. This particular morning was one like no other.

When I rounded the corner, there was a very sweet and pregnant kitty. She came right up to me and I picked her up and carried her home.

My husband said, "What are you going to do with her?"

I said, "Put her in the bedroom. I can't let her have her babies outside."

We already had a house full of six cats, including my Sabrina girl who had been diagnosed with cancer a month before, and I knew it was going to be tough but I was up for the challenge.

Four days later, six beautiful healthy little kittens were born. About a week later, Sabrina became sicker and I knew it was time to let her go. I believe in my heart that God brought Bootise (that's what I named Mama) and the babies to me to keep my mind busy to help ease the pain of losing my girl of 15 years. I had had her since she was six weeks old and letting her go was the hardest thing to do, but somehow while rescuing Bootsie and her babies, she rescued me!
