My pawsitively unique Lassie is the perfect addition to our family! When we picked her up as a nine-week-old puppy, the family rehoming her had already named her Lassie, and we felt it was just too fitting with her classic Collie markings for us to change.

We got her as a "little sister" for our German Shepherd. He is very attached to his human, my wife, so he would push Lassie away from her, which lead to more bonding time with me. She quickly became a daddy's girl.

Lassie is always up for playing with a rope toy or fetching a ball. After running off all her energy, she will snuggle in the recliner. She didn't just become my dog due to her brother's jealousy, but also her appetite and tendency for mischief seemed to greatly mimic my own. We constantly have to puppy proof the house when we plan to be away for more than a few minutes. She has "dyed" her hair like any rebellious child would try to do when mom and dad are out, by chewing through a pink ink pen. She has pulled this stunt twice.

She is always trying to get any snack food we have in the house, just like me. When people have popcorn, she thinks they made it for her. When we have bananas, we have to pay the banana tax and give her a small bite. We even dropped a freshly buttered biscuit off a plate once, and when we went to pick it up to throw it away, she started to growl when our hands got close to it. She stopped growling when we moved our hands away. She helped herself to that tasty treat that evening!

She is a very patient dog and puts up with my favorite holiday more than most would! Halloween costumes and trunk-or-treats are some of her favorite things. All of the children are clearly just showing up to pet her; definitely not to get candy. Lassie has played the role of everything from Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz to "Alligator Loki".

She is highly comfort seeking, and we frequently find her laying in her chair, or even that she has gone back to bed. In either location, we make sure to tuck her in because she is our little princess. Our home simply wouldn't be the same without her!
