I've always wanted a cat, but my mom said I wasn't old enough to care for one. On my thirteenth birthday, I went to visit my Granny for a couple of weeks. She lived in an area with a lot of cats. I remember being little and trying to sneak a cat home with me.

One day, I was playing in the yard when I heard a little kitten crying. I looked around for a while but couldn't find it, so I figured it was a stray cat somewhere with her kittens.

Later that day, my cousin and I were walking around the block when we found two kittens crying near what we presumed was their mother's body. She had been hit and had left her kittens on their own.

My cousin and I, being the smart children we were, brought the kittens home without telling anyone. We made a little home for them, went to the store to get special milk, and decided we were going to raise them.

Of course, we eventually got caught. But my mum realized that if I was responsible enough to raise two baby kittens for a week without any help, maybe I really was old enough to have a cat. She let me keep one of them. When we all went home, my cousin took Daisy and I took Marco.

To this day, Marco and Daisy live happily in their homes and have new mummies to love them. They still get to see each other whenever my cousin and I can get together.
