On December 4th, 2001, I went to have a crack in my windshield replaced. While waiting at Carglass, I heard a strange sound coming from the engine of the car parked next to mine.

The technician popped the hood, and there she was—at the bottom of the engine. I tried to catch her, but my arm wasn’t long enough. She took off and hid in another car. Soon, five technicians were following me around the shop. The people in the waiting room had no idea what was happening. All they saw was me reaching into car engines!
After 30 minutes and four cars later, we finally managed to grab her. She was tiny, no older than eight weeks, so I took her home.

I called my mom, and the moment she saw her, she was in love. But this one was mine to keep.
In the hot summer of 2002, Tigger moved to my parents’ house so she could enjoy their garden. Then, in the summer of 2012, my parents sold their house and moved to an apartment. By that time, I had bought a home of my own, so Tigger moved back in with me.
Happy 13th anniversary, baby Tigger. I love you to bits.
