When Dracumel came into my life, I wasn’t looking for a pet. We already had a dog and two cats at my parents’ house, and I had just moved out on my own. I wasn’t even sure I could take care of myself yet.

One day, while I was drinking my coffee at work, I saw a small black cat on the other side of the road. I called to him, and to my surprise, he ran straight to me. He jumped into my arms and didn’t want to leave.

I went back to work, and about 30 minutes later I stepped outside for a cigarette. He was still there, sitting and waiting. It broke my heart when he tried to follow me inside and stood looking at me through the window.

It was 3 PM, and I finished work at 5 PM. I told myself that if he was still there when I got off, I would take him home.

And he was there.
