This is my 8-year-old black Lab, Lady. I rescued her last November after finding her wandering around my school one night. At the time, I lived in an apartment that did not allow animals, but I snuck her in for the night.

The next morning, I took her to the shelter. As someone who always grew up with dogs, it was one of the hardest things I have ever done.
When no one claimed her after a couple of days, I made a life-changing decision. I moved out of my apartment and adopted her.

After treating her for tapeworms and a urinary tract infection, she became a healthy senior Lab. Most of her teeth are broken or fractured. She had clearly had puppies at one point, and she has severe separation anxiety whenever I leave her.
Every day, I let her know she will always have a home with me.
Going back for her was the best decision I have ever made.
