It was 2019. My kids, a friend and her son, and I were driving back to Ohio from Tennessee. It was raining, and we decided to stop at Cumberland Falls. As we pulled in, we noticed a puppy sitting by the side of the road.

My daughter said that if he was still there when we left, we were bringing him home.

When we came back, he was still there. My daughter sat in the pouring rain for an hour, using beef jerky to gain his trust.
