Senior Dog at Horse and Hound Rescue Acts Half Her Age, Thanks to You
Andrea Powell
Older dogs have a harder time getting around due to chronic joint pain, stiffness, and inflammation. However, with the right supplements, food, and care many senior dogs can remain active into their golden years.
That is why with your continued support we are helping senior dogs in shelters and at rescues stay comfortable and mobile with joint supplements, nutritious food, and tasty treats.

One of the happy and active recipients is a senior shepherd named Maya. This beautiful dog with her striking eyes -one blue and one brown- is living her best life at Horse and Hound Rescue Foundation, thanks to your support.
She devours the tasty senior dog food and soft treats that provide her with the nutrition and energy she needs to greet visitors and volunteers and help with chores on the 50-acre ranch.

The rescue rehabilitates Off Track Thoroughbred racehorses and is a sanctuary for senior dogs. There is a large pack of senior dogs who call this paradise home.
Maya is the "life of the party" and is always first to greet people. She has the energy of a younger dog despite the gray hair on her muzzle. According to the rescue, "She never misses a chance to tag along wherever the day’s work takes the volunteers. She follows them from pasture to pasture, sits patiently while someone grooms a horse, and happily joins in on chores like putting out hay. If something is happening at the rescue, Maya wants to be part of it."

She is loved by all and loves to pose for the camera- for a treat, of course. Maya would love to show you around her home, if you are ever in the area.

Your support is helping senior dogs get the care they need to live their best lives. The rescue said, "Donations like these help ensure the senior dogs at Horse and Hound continue receiving the quality nutrition they need to enjoy happy, active lives. Maya was especially grateful and enjoyed some extra treats during her latest photoshoot, where she proved once again that she was born to smile."
