From Surrendered to Spoiled - Love Changed Everything for This Gentle Old Soul

Senior dogs are often the ones who spend the longest in shelters waiting for a loving home, especially if they are a large black dog like Vader.
This sweet fella was surrendered when his owners could no longer care for him. His world had been turned upside down and he found himself alone in a strange environment. His odds for adoption were low due to his age, size, and color.
Thankfully, there is a place where senior dogs rule and get to live out the rest of their lives in comfort and loved. Vader is one of the lucky ones who ended up at the 50-acre horse rehab and senior dog sanctuary called Horse and Hound Rescue Foundation.
He has discovered what every senior dog deserves—a soft bed to rest on, nourishing meals, gentle care, and people who adore him just as he is. His days are now filled with peaceful naps, leisurely walks, wagging tails, and the simple joy of knowing he's finally home.
He arrived on May 4, so he was named "Darth Vader" or "Vader" for short. He does not have a dark side, but the force is strong when it comes to food. Your donations have provided Vader and his senior pals nutritious food, tasty treats, and other essential supplies.
He devours the donated food and sends endless wet kisses for your support. His caretakers shared, "You won't find him trying to take over the galaxy, unless the galaxy is made of comfy dog beds and snacks. He's a calm, kind soul who enjoys spending his days with his senior friends and soaking up all the love he can get."
They went on to say, "We couldn't do what we do without the support of generous donors. Because of you, dogs like Vader get the chance to live out their golden years surrounded by comfort, care, and plenty of treats. Never tell our senior dogs the odds. The Force may not have always been strong with Darth Vader, but thanks to all of you, the Force is strong in his fur-mily."
