A senior dog at an overcrowded city shelter was at risk of euthanasia due to being fearful and shy. A local rescue saved him, but he escaped during transport and roamed the streets for a couple of weeks until he was captured.

A kind woman lured him into her home with chicken, and he returned to the rescue. His pervious actions decided his name - Houdini. He was examined by a vet which revealed he had heartworm disease. He underwent treatment and remained happy and healthy, thanks to your support

The donated senior dog food helped him get the nutrition he needed and ensured he always had a full belly. His journey to a forever home continued when he attended an adoption event where he met his future mother.

The woman named Heather was finally ready to welcome a dog back into her home and heart after losing her "soul dog" a few years ago. She spotted Houdini quietly observing everything from his crate and asked to take him home for the weekend.

According to the rescue, "Within hours, her family knew he wasn’t going back. This shy boy is slowly coming out of his shell, but you wouldn’t know this boy was ever facing imminent death. Thanks to the donations from GOODS, Henry (his new name) was able to find his perfect match and the rescue is able to continue our life-saving work."
