September Flight To Freedom Gives 65 Shelter Dogs A Second Chance

65 shelter dogs were flown out of Louisiana in the early morning hours of September 19 and arrived in Wisconsin to find loving homes.

They boarded a Greater Good Charities Good Flight that was sponsored by The Animal Rescue Site, thanks to your support.

Animal shelters - especially those in southern states - are over capacity with new pets arriving daily. Dogs and cats are at risk of euthanasia due to lack of space and adopters.

That is why we sponsor a flight (Flight to Freedom) every month to help save the lives of shelter pets. Dogs and cats are flown out of overcrowded shelters to shelters with open kennels and adopters waiting to meet them.

This month's Flight to Freedom saved dogs like Suzette, a puppy found under the porch with her leg trapped in a piece of rope, and adult dogs like Good News and Mullet. These dogs and dozens more will finally get the chance to find a forever home.

They were greeted by the smiling faces of shelter staff and volunteers who carried them to transport vehicles. Their painful pasts are behind them, and only good times are ahead.

These lifesaving flights are possible thanks to your generous donations and the hard work of many people who coordinate, load, and transport the shelter pets. We need your continued support to help even more dogs and cats get the second chance they deserve.

Help us raise funds to fly more shelter pets to freedom by donating here. Together we CAN change the world.
