Shy Dog Has Been Waiting Over 500 Days at Shelter for Someone to Pick Her
Andrea Powell
Storm was surrendered to Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter when she didn't get along with the other dog in her home. That was over 500 days ago.
This shy dog has been overlooked ever since and deserves a second chance. A volunteer-operated Instagram page is sharing her story and that of other shelter dogs to help them find loving homes.

Storm takes some time to warm up to people but once she does, she has the biggest heart. She needs to be the only dog and is searching for a quiet and loving adult that will give her time to adjust and trust.
Her favorite part of the day is when she gets to go outside and be around people. Just look at that smile.

Her bio states, "She can be cautious when meeting new people and benefits from patience and consistency as she builds trust, but once she feels comfortable, Storm shows her affectionate side and enjoys relaxing with her favorite people. Storm knows basic cues such as “sit” and “come” and does best in a quiet, structured home where routines help her feel secure."
Not one person has come to meet her. This sweet dog has spent way too many nights on a concrete floor and deserves to experience love, kindness, and a home of her own. Share her story to help her find her person. Learn more about adopting her here.
