Rowland arrived at Humane Society of Broward County after being rescued from a hoarding situation. This shy fella has never experienced love and is now the longest shelter resident.

For the past 120 days he has patiently waited for someone to pick him, but he continues to wait. Each day he loses a bit more hope that his special someone is out there. He watched as all his feline friends found homes and is now all alone.

The shelter staff shared, "He spends his days now hiding inside his cat tree, quietly waiting and hoping someone will notice him. It’s breaking our hearts."

They posted a video of Rowland and explained how much he has overcome and is a friendly cat once he warms up to you. He will even take treats out of your hands and leans in for scratches and attention.

The two-year-old is looking for a quiet home with other felines and patient humans who will give him time to adjust to a new place. He promises to be a loyal companion and love you forever, if someone will just give him a chance.

His adoption fee has been covered, and he is ready to ring in the new year with a new family. His caretakers said, "Rowland may not rush to greet visitors, but he is trying every single day."

There are countless homeless animals like Rowland waiting as shelters across the country for a home. Please adopt. You will save lives and get a best friend for life.
