Carlos Gauna, a licensed drone pilot known as The Malibu Artist, was filming marine life near the shoreline when the boat appeared in frame. As the vessel passed over the shark’s location, the animal surfaced with a large gash across its caudal peduncle—a telltale sign of a propeller strike.
