If you've ever had an opportunity to see whales in the ocean, you realize just how majestic they can be. Watching them breach the surface is amazing, but if you go under the water and see them from beneath, it's truly special.

Many people don't have the opportunity to see them up close and personal in this way, but some divers make it their life's goal to do so. They go under the water every opportunity they can, and they spend a lot of time getting familiar with these large animals.

Although whales are majestic and seem to be friendly, they also are creatures to be respected. Some whales, such as the blue whale, can weigh more than 330,000 pounds! That's a lot of weight to push around.

When you have an opportunity to go down into their environment, you would want to take plenty of pictures and videos. You never know what you are going to see when you are under the sea.

According to The Dodo, one female diver named Nam had such an opportunity, and she got up close to a whale that was swimming by. The whale was acting aggressively, keeping her within an area.

Even when she tried to swim away or to get behind the whale, it would move its body to block her path. Nan couldn't understand why the whale was acting in this way, and she was a bit concerned.

When it comes to spending time in the water, Nan is no stranger to the activity. She spends a lot of time under the water with whales and sharks, but this whale had her confused.

The whale didn't seem to want to harm her. On the contrary, it seemed to love it when she reached out and touched it. It still wouldn't leave her side, swimming over to her and sticking like glue.

The behavior began to frighten Nan. After all, it was a large creature and did not act as she expected.

At one point during the 10-minute ordeal, the whale even lifted her out of the water. She was able to yell for help from the boat, but then she started yelling for a different reason.

While she was on the back of the whale, she saw a large tiger shark nearby. The shark was possibly interested in having Nan for lunch, but the whale was protecting her.
