Woman Reunites Bonded Wild Mustangs Separated During Round-Up

Two wild mustangs are back together again thanks to a kindhearted woman dedicated to their bond.

According to The Dodo, Melissa followed the story of Stargazer and Nora from the time they roamed free. The two wild mustangs were bonded, but a government round-up caused them to be separated.

Low-flying helicopters corralled the wild horses into a cage. From there, they were transported to holding pens and sold off at auction. It's a cruel practice that often separates bonded horses, but Melissa wanted to make the best of it.

She knew Stargazer and Nora were bonded, and she was determined to see them stay together. So she bid on the auction.

While the auction was open to anyone in the country, Melissa did her best to place the highest bid for the two bonded mustangs - and she won!

Seeing them reunite at her house was incredibly touching. They'll never have to be separated again, thanks to her.

Melissa shared with The Dodo that the two mustangs needed a bit of time to unwind and get familiar with their new surroundings. It wasn't long before they were comfortable enough to eat from her hand. Eventually, their personalities began to shine through!

Melissa's domestic pony, Reuben, met Stargazer and Nora and the three horses all got along just fine. Melissa admits that Reuben is sometimes a bit of a third-wheel to the two wild mustangs, but he doesn't seem to mind too much.

"Just all of those experiences that they had together I think really strengthened their bond," she said.
