Billie Has Waited Long Enough- Transport Senior Wolf Nicky to Be Her Companion
Andrea Powell
There is something quietly heartbreaking about a wolf who has no one to answer her howl. Billie is a snaggle-toothed senior gray wolf living at Wolf Haven International in Tenino, Washington — and since the passing of her companion Guy, her world has been defined by an absence she feels in every moment of every day. Wolves are not solitary creatures. They are built for bond, for pack, for the irreplaceable comfort of another beside them. She is a senior wolf who has already known loss.

After Guy passed away, leaving Billie without the companionship wolves naturally seek, her caregivers noticed a change. The curious and bold wolf they knew had grown quieter.
Her spirit needs to be lifted and that can only be done through the companionship she finds in another wolf. She needs this connection to thrive.

Billie is ready for a new companion. She is more than ready. Help us make sure she does not have to wait much longer.
Her enclosure was just renovated (thanks to your support) to welcome her new companion, senior gray wolf Nicky.

Nicky and his brother Cerberus are waiting on transport to the sanctuary. Nicky will become Billie’s new companion while Cerberus will join another sanctuary resident.
That is if you will help make the flight happen on June 30th.

Greater Good Charities and Wolf Haven International need to raise $50,000 to fund this transport—and the clock is ticking. Donate now to fly Nicky and Cerberus to their new home.
