Speak out against Congress members who are trying to remove protections for America's untouched wilderness.
Certain members of Congress are trying to pass The Wilderness and Roadless Area Release Act (H.R. 1581/S. 1087) in order to make way for industrialization in wilderness areas that have been protected for decades.
If this legislation passes, much of California’s remote land, including its beautiful Sierra Nevada mountain range, will be open for industrial expansion. This means that developers will now have the option to build businesses, roads, mines, and logging ventures — thereby endangering countless species of plants and animals that exist in the mountains, forests, and deserts in this area.
Protected for decades against industrialization, this stretch of land is now in grave danger. Urge President Obama to reject H.R. 1581 should it reach his desk.
