Bruzer was originally surrendered due to a complicated home life. He quickly found a new home but was returned when he began vomiting and refusing to eat, and his new family couldn't take on his care.

Bruzer has a type of internal hernia that has created a pocket in his diaphragm. Part of his liver has slipped into this pocket and become necrotic, putting him at risk of liver failure. Without treatment, Bruzer will only get worse. He needs surgery to remove the damaged tissue and repair the hernia.
