Research has shown that climate change is making wildfire seasons longer, increasing the intensity of fires, and leading to even more land being burned. In recent years, large scale fires have even wiped out whole towns, displacing people and pets and leaving them without necessities.
As severe fires hit, Greater Good Charities mobilizes in response. When wildfires devastated Maui in 2023 and the Park Fire destroyed homes in California in 2024, GGC distributed Good Packs filled with survival supplies and pet food to displaced families and animals. As further fires occur, they will continue to assess the situation with their partners and stand ready to deliver more aid.
