We Did It! Thanks to your donations, we raised enough to deliver 3.5 million meals to shelters across the country!
While this is a huge help to overwhelmed animal shelters and rescues, the need is still great.
One of the biggest expenses for shelters and rescue groups is feeding animals in their care. While an average of 6.5 million animals enter shelters each year, only 3.2 million are adopted, meaning there are more and more bellies to fill each year. For many rescues, after food costs, they have little or nothing left in their budget for medical treatment, vaccines, or other adoption programs.
That's where our partner, Greater Good Charities, comes in! They ship donated food to rescue groups around the country to make sure their animals are fed, and that they have extra money in their budget to help dogs and cats in desperate need.
Donate now to continue to feed hungry shelter animals in honor of the 9th annual National Feed a Rescue Pet Week. A gift of just $25 can ship 500 meals to rescue pets in need!
Your donation will help save lives of malnourished animals, like orphaned kittens, Lilly, and Darling. Read their stories below.
Meet V-Group Kittens
Valentino, Vincent, Valerie, Vernon and Victor were orphaned when they were just two weeks old and needed constant care and food to survive. They were thin and hungry when they arrived at the rescue in a dirty cardboard box.
Thanks to your donations, these adorable kittens survived and are now thriving. The rescue said, "These kittens would have inevitably died had we not intervened, but all survived. We thank you on their behalf."
Meet Lilly
Sweet Lilly was found abandoned in rural Oklahoma severely malnourished and covered in scars. She clearly had a rough life and was in desperate need of nutritious food and love.
Your donations helped Lilly regain her strength and return to a healthy weight. She is finally experiencing love and kindness for the first time in her life, and she is loving it.
She is our spokes-dog for this year's National Feed A Rescue Pet Week.
Meet Darling
The schnauzer mix was discovered by a rescue who was rescuing a Labrador retriever who lived in the backyard of a home in Oklahoma without food or shelter before a winter storm hit the area.
As soon as the rescue saw the matted and malnourished dog, they reached out to another local rescue to take her in. The poor dog didn't even have a name, and the rescue learned that she had to fight for scraps of food that the owners tossed in the backyard, which she rarely got.
Darling will never go hungry again. Your donations are helping feed hungry shelter animals while they wait for a forever home.
