With the support of The Animal Rescue Site, Greater Good Charities is conducting emergency flights to evacuate shelter pets out of areas hit by Hurricane Helene and Milton. 

Hundreds of shelter animals that were waiting for homes prior to the storms have been evacuated and flown to the Midwest to find loving homes. The shelter animals get a second chance and opens up kennels for lost and displaced pets.  These life-saving flights are possible thanks to your support and countless hardworking people, including the pilots. 

Ameriflight Captain Tom helped with one of the transports after Hurricane Helene devastated several states. He spotted an adorable gray kitten and "it was love at first sight". 

Prior to takeoff, he took a photo of Colin and sent it to his family who agreed that he had to come home with Tom. 

Tom adopted Colin and said, "We has 111 cats on board and Colin was one of those kitties that really stuck out to me and my family and shared the photo of Colin with my wife and one thing led to another and here we are, we're going to adopt Colin and take him home with us." 

Tom went on to say, "It's awesome to know that we're going to be able to give Colin a good home and help him have a great life."

Thanks to your generous donations, many more shelter pets have also found homes. But that's not all...

Greater Good Charities has also sent 122 trucks loaded with $6.5 million in humanitarian aid and pet products across 5 states to more than 41 communities impacted by the hurricanes.
