The Animal Rescue Site and Greater Good Charities are conducting an emergency flight to evacuate pets affected by Hurricane Helene. Thanks to Purina, your gift will be matched, up to $25,000!
Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida with winds upwards of 140 miles per hour and an "unsurvivable" storm surge, then traveled north through the Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee. The death toll has climbed to 102 as of Monday morning with more expected to be found. More than 3 million people are without power and many communities are completely cut off due to washed out roads and other damage. A dam in Tennessee even breeched, causing even worse flooding.
Countless pets have been displaced from their families, overwhelming already crowded animal shelters. Shelters are struggling to keep pets safe as they deal with flooding and power outages.
That's why with The Animal Rescue Site, Greater Good Charities is flying homeless pets out of South Carolina to Wisconsin, where they can quickly get adopted. This will free up space in shelters to take in displaced pets while they wait to be reunited with their families.
These poor shelter dogs and cats desperately need your help to be flown to safety. Will you pitch in? Thanks to Purina, your gift will be matched, up to $25,000. Just $40 can fly a pet - donate today!
