Dog Found Left For Dead In A Crate At The End Of A Cul-De-Sac

When you have a dog in your life, you want to do everything you can to make sure they are comfortable and safe. We realize they give us a lot of love and we want to give as much as we can to them in return.

The unfortunate reality for many dogs, however, is that they live life without such a loving family. They may be a pet, but that doesn't mean they are cared for properly.

When a dog is mistreated or even abandoned, it can feel the full weight of the strain on its emotions. Many of us who have rescued dogs may have seen the difficulties they face, and it can take quite some time for them to overcome the problems.

Some of the traits that a dog may display after being abused or abandoned include whining, barking, howling, and panting. Some dogs may also distrust humans, and that is a very sad thing to see.

We can see the strain that a dog experiences when we look at an abandoned dog in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was abandoned along the side of the street in a cul-de-sac.

Someone put him in a crate and left him to fend for himself with a water bowl and a bag of food. A local woman, Lindsey Keller, found him and took some pictures before posting them on Facebook.

She explained what happened, saying: "This dog was left on a dead-end road in Kalamazoo today like this. If you know anyone that can help, he is currently with a friend. He is unaltered and young (1-2)."

She also was kind enough to ask people not to bash the former owners. She gave them the benefit of the doubt, saying that they may have thought this was better than taking the dog to a pound.

It didn't help many people from having an opinion on the subject, as this is no way to treat a family member.

An update was shared two days later by Caroline Mallie-Campbell. Thanks to the Kalamazoo Animal Rescue, he was in a foster home and preparing to be put up for adoption.

The Kalamazoo Animal Rescue shared an update just a few short weeks later saying that the dog, who they named Dewey, was happily living in his new forever home.

"From abandoned in a crate at the end of a cul de sac to living the good life with his new fur sister, Bruce - now named Dewey - has found his forever family!" they wrote on Facebook.

Way to go, Dewey!

I love to write and it keeps me busy. I've been working online, full time since 1999. When you can't find me at the keyboard, you'll find me getting as much as I can out of life. I enjoy living simply, playing games, visiting the beach, and spending time with my family.
